Plenty of easy & difficult hiking trails & walking paths with views of the canyon. This park seems less visited than Leonard Harrison on the opposite rim. Bonus, road to the park is flanked by Tioga State Forest lands with additional hiking …
This place offers some easy to get to views of the Pine Creek Gorge aka PA Grand Canyon. A couple of the views are just a short walk from the parking lot. There are some longer hikes available that offer equally stunning views.
Hiked the West Rim Trail from Rattlesnake Rock to the Colton Road north terminus. Trail was well marked. Maintenance in general was good, downed trees in a few places required a workaround. One muddy section had log slices as stepping …
No one there to answer questions or point some stuff out. Parking a little tricky and some general grounds up keep is needed. Overall. Was good, but watch your kids and dogs. Just common sense for most, but for the ones that were around us.
Extremely beautiful! Lives up its name "Little Grand Canyon of PA"! ❤
Have been to Leonard Harrison a few times, and Colton Point is just as amazing as the east side! Easy to get to, and the overlook spots have amazing views to look at. Turkey path gets quite narrow but not too difficult to navigate. Will be coming back, photos don't do this place justice
Beautiful state park with terrific views. Fun and strenuous trail leads down to Pine Creek. The park has a primitive campground that seems overpriced for the basic amenities. There is a $6.50 additional reservation charge that is even applied even for same-day campers.
Colton Point State Park is part of the Grand Canyon of PA. The views are spectacular and the hike is easy for any level hiker. Take a packed lunch and enjoy the rustic picnic tables and area. This is a definite bucket list of PA place to go.
We had a good time in spite of the copious gnats in the area. I wish there were park maps with trails available in obvious places. The edges of the Rim Trail are, shall we say, breathtaking--watch your step! Be observant and courteous as you ascend and descend the road into the park.
